RE: Used Brake Buddy Ok?

Our BB works like a charm. We use it on Sensitivity of 5 for our application with 80 PSI on the pump setting. Never had a problem. We always are re-assured when we feel that "Tug" and release. 20K on this one and I bought it on Ebay 3 years ago. It was 3 yrs old then. I dropped the alerter reciever and it doesn't work anymore. BUT,... as long as I feel the "tug" I know its working... I do check brakes and connections during fuel stops and rest stops. So... I keep an eye on it... BB Classic gets my Vote!!! My $.02

RE: Your Opinions on Damon & Mandalay

I have had an awesome experience with our Damon Challenger. There have been some rants about Damon but I can't find a fault with the product. However, we are comparing my gas coach to a high end DP. From the manufacturer stand point all have flaws, some more than others. When it comes time for us to upgrade, the Damon line is in our plans as long as we can agree on a floor plan. As I stated, our Challenger is a great coach. I have dealt with the Damon service department directly on some issues and have had great results. Its up to you to decide. The Mandalay sounds like a fine coach. I like the Tuscany as well. Best of Luck in your decision. Keep us posted!!!

RE: 36' or 40'

We went from a 30' TT to a 38 Ft triple slide coach. I'd love to go bigger... But... $$ is really tight now... We found that there really isn't too much difference with 38 v 40. Our next will be an Allegro Bus in teh 42 range. Saving saving saving...

RE: mesa verde rv resort

RE: Securing a 5ver in Storage Yard

We have a gated storage area that we use that is about 15 minutes from home. Our HOA won't allow MOHO's either. We struck a deal and we get outdoor storage for about $35 per month as long as we pay for 6 mos. at a time. Its well lit, fenced and has one way in and one way out. If you are looking for storage in the St. Louis area, PM me and I can put you in touch with the owner. (and no, I don't work for him). He even has indoor secured if you want it... Happy trails!!!

RE: Patio Mats

Bought ours at Home Depot. There was a sale on outdoor carpet remnants. Its 16' by 6 ft. Ours fits under the awning just fine. If memory serves me, we only paid $25.00. We get funny looks when we vaccuum it before folding and storing... :)

RE: Cheap Gas! $2.859 Yesterday

Passed a filing station here today on the way to work. $1.75 gal... Gas at Sams Club this weekend was 1.71 / Gal. Filled up the Toad and my Truck. Prices heading south is good. I just wonder when it will go up again. I will fill the MOHO this weekend if the price is still that low. Oh.. Don't for get the fuel stablizer... AND run the engine and Genset to move the Stabilzer into the Genny... YMMV

RE: Booth Dinette vs Table & Chairs??

I removed the booth dinette, bought 4 unfinished/uncovered Stakmore chairs on Ebay. I used the fabrick from the booth backs to cover the chairs. I stained and finished the chairs to match the woodwork. It looks like they are Original Equipment. I kept the adjustable table as it was. It all worked out great!! The DW likes it and thats all that matters at this point... :) Good Luck!!!

RE: Dinghy Wiring???

magnetic lights, $24.88 at wal-mart. bumpy Well this would be the easy way out I guess. My concern is, what if I scratch up my wifes vehicle with those. I will never hear an end to that. At this point I am leaning towards the fixed install with the relay's. well if you wipe off the area with a damp cloth before slapping them on and if you DON"t slide them around, they won't scratch anything. and if you slap them on the roof, nobody could see a tiny scratch anyway. personally I would avoid the diodes, relays would be preferable IMHO. or Dp/Dt switches would be more failsafe. bumpy Just use a square of Scoot Guard. Thats what I use under our Magnetics... 2nd TOAD and no scratches yet... Been using the Mag lites for the past 3 seasons... Cheap alternative to Diodes, wiring, connectors etc...

RE: first time buyer class a motorhome

Our current MOHO is our 1st MOHO. We camped in everyting from a Tent, PU and TT. We have NO REGRETS WHATSOEVER with our motor home. Its been a true and trusted RV. Sure, we had our moments but they were all quite minor and under warranty. From Branson MO, to Colorado to Key West FL, to So. Carolina... What a ride... Looking to hit the road one more time before We tuck the SS Minnow in... Happy travels and good luck!!!

RE: Winterized-- now what?

I just re-winterize if I get the bug to "Go"... its easy. Drain fresh water and waste tanks I blow out the lines, drain the HW heater, Set the HW heater bypass and add 1.5 Gallons of antifreeze. (Again) Top off the Traps and potty. It takes me about 45 minutes, start to finish with the DW running the faucets... Just be sure to get all of the water out of the Water Pump as well... I start in the bathroom and work my way to the Kitchen sink... I have "Re-wintereized" a few times in the past 3 years. We USUALLY head to Key West for xmas. This year the MOHO will stay all tucked in adn we will drive the TOAD to Big Sky MT. to stay with Inlaws... Good Luck!!!

RE: Travel Buddies?

WE typically camp alone. Recently, my FIL and MIL purchased a class C. THey have had A's in the past. We take them with us on occasion. We like the same Park not too far from home. WE visit our son in College about once a month. He is about 200 miles from home. Its an easy drive. The INLAWS don't like to go that far due to my FIL's health. We go and have a great time anyway. Its easier to go and let others know where we will be. Sometimes they join us, some times they don't. Either way... Its always a great trip.... Gettin cold here... So not too many weekends planned. Be safe and happy travels!!!

RE: TOAD Tail light diodes keeps burning out

Here is my towning light setup... MOHO=========>>>TOAD====>Magnetic lights... Sooo simple... I tried the diode method. We sold the old Toad, and the new one its too easy to use the magnetics. I put a little square of Scoot Gard under the magnets. This keeps any scratches to the paint surface at bey... YMMV

RE: ACC dash fans

I haven't moved ours since we bought the coach 3 seasons ago... I'd opt for the set screw.

RE: Frig won't light; need advice soon

Make sure that your 12 volt is not disconnected. The fridge needs a 12 volt source for ignition. If its connected, check your battery. I may be below the required voltage... My $.02...

RE: installing sat radio antenna

I would see if the installer can use Option #2. It seems that a he will need to do is fish it thru the same opening and recault/seal the intrusion. With our Class A, I just fished the wire thru the inspection plate on the dash cluster and out to the dashboard and plopped the puck in the center of the windshield. Works for me... Didn't have to drill any holes... good lucK!!! J

RE: BULL question???????

Why do cattle always end up at the highway fence. More and more we notice that on a range of 1000 acres, they always end up at the highway fence. My DW says they are counting cars.... Any one have any idea why they do this?? I have asked a few and only got a Moooo for an answer... :D
